Pet Urine Issues and Your Carpet
If you have ever gotten a new puppy and allowed them in the house then you know what Pet Problems can occur. Pet Urine in carpets is a huge issue. The smell can last for years and be difficult to get out. Train your pets to go outside.
There are different levels of Animal Urine Issues.
The One time issue, the Mulitple small issues, and the Regular use of an area to Pee.
If your pet issue is a a One Time issue it can be treated with a neutralizer. Often the recipe for this will be to mix up a solution with about the same amount of water as was released on the carpet. This liquid is then put into the carpet on the spot and allowed to dwell for twenty to thirty minutes. Then the area is extracted. This can work if the amount of Urine in the carpet is minimal.
Multiple small issues can be treated like the One time issue. There are often a lot more Urine issues than people realize if the pet has been having multiple releases.
Serious Urine Issues
If they are in just one spot you can pull up the rug and padding and replace it. Before it is replaced the subfloor should be dried out and painted. Sometimes with a serious spot the urine will have soaked the subfloor, and gone through that to to ceiling below. This can become a very large project quickly.
Dog Training
One of the best ways to limit or eliminate Dogs urinating in the house is crate training. A crate trained dog will never go inside their crate unless they are sick or have been in the crate for an unreasonably long time. This is a natural reaction, the dog sees the crate as it’s den. I am not a dog trainer but just a little research on Crate Training your dog can save you a lot of money on carpet cleaning. This also works very well for traveling with your dog. Once you have them crate trained you will come to enjoy traveling with your dog again.
Cat Box Training
I know nothing about box training a cat. They can be really sneaky and have a spot they urinate in all the time. Be aware of what is going on, they can cause a lot of damage.
